Authorities arrested a US Army sergeant for allegedly leaking military info to a Chinese-linked contact.
The sergeant in Hawaii is accused of sending classified defense info to someone he thought would pass it to China.
The Justice Department charged the sergeant with conspiring to and transmitting defense information to aid a foreign government.
The arrest came after a sting operation in which authorities caught the sergeant actively sharing the information.

The sergeant thought he was talking to a foreign agent but was actually dealing with an undercover FBI agent.
He is accused of leaking details on US military asset tracking and weapon system capabilities.
The National Security Assistant AG, Hawaii’s US Attorney, and the Counterintelligence Section are managing the case.
The FBI’s Honolulu Field Office and the Army’s 902nd Military Intelligence Group are also participating in the investigation.
The arrest highlights the persistent insider threat to US security and the need for ongoing vigilance to protect classified info.
