A serious incident at Manchester Airport has shocked the public. Specifically, police officers injured brothers Amaad and Fahir during a confrontation, kicking them violently. As a result, the incident has sparked an intense debate about police brutality and racial prejudice.
The Incident
The trouble began when another passenger racially abused and physically attacked Amaad and Fahir’s mother at Terminal 2 of Manchester Airport. Initially, the passenger insulted her with derogatory remarks and then deliberately pushed his cart against her. Consequently, Amaad and Fahir came to their mother’s aid, which ultimately escalated the situation.

Subsequently, police responded to the scene and intervened in the altercation. During the arrest of Amaad and Fahir, however, further violent confrontations erupted. Notably, eyewitnesses and video footage documented a police officer kicking Fahir in the head, despite him posing no threat. Moreover, officers kicked both brothers multiple times, causing injuries.
Police Statement
In response to the incident, Manchester Police released a statement on Twitter:
“Officers responded to reports of an altercation between members of the public in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport.
While attempting to arrest one of the suspects of the earlier altercation, three suspects violently assaulted three officers, punching them to the ground.
As a result, a female officer suffered a broken nose and all three required hospital treatment.
Furthermore, as the attending officers carried firearms, the assault posed a clear risk of their weapons being taken from them.
Consequently, officers arrested four men at the scene for affray and assault on emergency service workers.
In addition, we acknowledge the concerns about the conduct shown in the video, and our Professional Standards Directorate is therefore assessing this.”

In the aftermath, many have widely condemned the incident as an act of unnecessary violence and police brutality. Additionally, Akhmed Yakoob (Akhmedyakoob1), the lawyer representing the brothers and their family, has documented their injuries and, as a result, plans to take legal action against the involved officers.
Meanwhile, the police’s Professional Standards Directorate is currently investigating the incident to address the allegations against the officers. They expect to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation.
