Stacy Wakefield, wife of the late Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. The team announced her death on Wednesday.
Her demise occurred less than five months after Tim Wakefield’s passing due to brain cancer at the age of 57.
Stacy Wakefield spent her final moments at her Massachusetts home, surrounded by loved ones, caregivers, and nurses. Described by the Wakefield family as a resilient, loving, and compassionate individual, Stacy’s down-to-earth nature endeared her to many.
The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support Stacy received from both medical professionals and well-wishers during her illness.

Tim Wakefield, renowned for his mastery of the knuckleball pitch, enjoyed a distinguished career as a two-time World Series champion and a Red Sox Hall of Famer.
He married Stacy in November 2002, and they leave behind two children, Trevor and Brianna.
